L'Occitane Advent Calendar

Do you remember your childhood's days before Christmas? Probably as every child I was so excited. A chocolate advent calendary helped me with counting days remaining untill Christmas Eve. Nowadays we can find various types of these calendaries. In my country these are still a bit news. I must confess, I haven't know them since this year when my eye was catched by L'Occitane's Beauty Advent Calendar, which I'd like to show you.

How a new beginning started

I got a question - why I have decided to leave my quite succesful blog written in my native language and started once again even in a foreign speach on a new place, which nobody knows.
For answering that, I have to sketch out some fact about my previous blogging.

My entry in Battle of the Beadsmith 2016

Battle of the Beadsmith (BOTB) is an every-year international competition in beadweaving which I joined for second time.

So how I took up the challenge?

Crown Princess of Black metal

Hi there, network wanderers! Today I would like to tell you about a gorgeously talented woman on metal scene...

Crown Princess of Black metal - by this title I call Dannish musician an composer Amalie Bruun, known for her project Myrkur (darkness in Icelandic). Why? This lady totally shocked me. I discovered a review on her EP Myrkur in rock/metal magazine two ears ago and I found it as a must for my ears. I usually don't listen to black metal often, it's not my favourite subgenre and I have to have a mood for it. But Myrkur was absolutly different from every other BM music I've already heard!

Battle jacket

Festival season is here and a denim jacket accesorised with patches is a must for every metalhead. Let me show you mine!

Matter of the heart - that is a simple description of battle jacket for it's owner. Reflects his or her music taste at first and years of memories at second. And last but not least the time invested by it's creating - searching for rigth appliques and patches and it's handwritten sewing. It's a mirror into the owner's soul, so every one is an unique piece. Making of something like that is a longtime process with a lot of care.

Fans usually buy the jacket's itself and then starts to buy and sew patches. I started from scratch - by designing, construction and sewing the jacket.

Manna for your skin

I usually don't pay attention for advertisement, but that day about three weeks ago it got me. A brand of natural cosmetic which I haven't known yet was sponsored on my Facebook profile. As a lover of organic beauty products I simply had to open it. And that's the story how not a God but a social network gave me manna.

Manna is a natural cosmetic brand from Hungary specialised in manufactured soaps. Their website is full of superlatives and positive ratings, which makes it quite uncomfortable. I was convinced about the powers of natural cosmetics several times, but on the other hand I usually don't believe in miracles and miracles was the most served word on their website.

Landing

Wanderer, welcome!

For over six years I've sailed across the internet waters with blog written in my native language. After this long time I had felt unconfortable with it so I decided to pull out the anchors with a new shield. I was wondering about my future ways and then I've found an empty, hidden island which I named after it's founder - Þórví's land [Tho:rvi:s].

I'm at age of two decades, just accepted to university for Balkan studies, going to learn Serbian language and culture (and hoping that the same with Swedish - just a few days after entry exams...).

On my hidden land you can expect a lot of pieces of my ordinary life, mostly thoughts, experiences and my hobbies and interests: handmade - beadwoven jewelry design, sewing (I'm graduated student of fashion design on high school) & traditional textile techniques, natural cosmetics (as a buyer and also creator) and music (mostly heavy metal). I'm also a lover of history, old-and-today Scandinavia and neo-paganism, which may be included in my articles too.

And last but not least I enjoy elf roleplay, horn of a good mead and sweet macarons! ;-)

Hope you will enjoy the pieces of my life on my hidden island!
